Once when I was little I was playing at a friends house with him and his sister. I was riding around on a skateboard and began to pretend I was a Ninja Turtle and I could skateboard on the wall. My friend’s sister, being the realist that she was (even as a child), told me flat out that it was impossible for me to skateboard on the walls. Since I was quite obviously not a Ninja Turtle, I could therefore never accomplish my pretend task, and she would hear nothing more of my absurd style of play.

Years later I find myself running a skatepark near my hometown. I’d spend hours riding the ramps, going off jumps, sliding down rails, and all the good skateboard shenanigans. One day, while riding the big half pipe, I am reminded of being told what I couldn’t do. What was impossible for me to do. I had to smile thinking back on that day, and how wrong my friend’s sister was.

I was a Ninja Turtle!

This is how I got into programming before I had any clue what I was doing.

Way back in 2011 I got frustrated. The newest version of Dreamweaver did not work well. I absolutely hated it, and decided that since I was getting good enough at fixing HTML, I should start learning how to write it from scratch. Wanting to push the edges of web technology, I learned how to use existing building blocks and combined them, modified them, and figured out new things. I learned a lot but the site never really got used for what I hoped it would. I ended up moving into Network Security and closed up shop on my Graphic/Web Design business. I still make art and much of my own graphics, but programming is now at the forefront for me. Definitely poke around and let me know what you think of it.

The mobile site is definitely a throwback. It really only works well on phones, but I’ll post a separate button below so you can access it directly in case your phone/browser isn’t sending you there automagically.

I won’t update the portfolio on the old site with anything new, but I will try to get an art section added here soon.
